Lumen Eyecare is a wonderful place. I had an urgent eye issue and they were able to squeeze me in for a same day appointment. They treated me like a regular patient and helped me resolve my issue fast. I highly recommend their services!

I have been going to Locke Eye Care for years. Their new location is amazing! Dr. Locke always takes great care of his patients. Their staff is very prompt and helpful.

My day started with stress and fear and after my visit I feel relief and supported in whatever my eye future holds. Having an increase of floaters and a flash in my eye I worried what was happening. My doctor was on vacation, a call to Wolf Eye in Des Moines was a bunch of questions and then I was told I could just see my doctor when she returned. I called Lock at Jordan Creek and they squeezed me in at their Urbandale Lumen location that same day. Abby greeted me with a smile and “hello” which started my appointment positively. I was ran thru a few machine tests and pictures of the back of my eye and then taken to the exam room. Dr. Lock everything with me and I did not feel rushed. I do have something happening that she said we will watch but I felt so much better after we talked in detail. I am looking forward to having my appointments at this beautiful office.

The staff was super friendly and helpful in finding me the perfect pair of glasses! The process was quick and the staff was happy to explain any questions I had.

Man, I just love going to LUMEN EYECARE. Everyone there is so nice and they’re really care. The doctors are so caring and concerned. The staff is so nice. They’re nice on the phone when they call to remind you about your appointments the nice when you get there for your appointment and greet you with smiles just a wonderful place and they help you decide on glasses. They just do a good overall job thanks.

Love the new place, same great eye doctors, staff that is awesome, but almost too nice. Pricing is right inline with other places for the eye wear. Been with the eye doctors since moving to IA 15 years ago. Now they also take great care in the fulfilling of the prescriptions. Can’t wait till my new glasses are ready.

I can’t tell you how over the moon I am about my experience at this establishment. From the moment I walked in, the staff was courteous, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Everyone carried themselves with professionalism, but there was a warmth to it that immediately put any anxiety at ease. My exam was more thorough than I expected, and I really appreciated the care and detail that went into explaining everything to me. Nothing felt rushed, nothing felt overlooked, it felt like I was actually being taken care of. I couldn’t be more pleased with my decision to come here, and I genuinely look forward to coming back. If you’re someone who goes off Google reviews when making decisions, just know this, five stars across the board for these folks.

My husband and I moved from Cedar Rapids in April 2025 and we LOVED our eye doctor. We quickly got a new when we moved without doing the research and we weren’t fans. We decided to change and opted for Lumen and instantly felt like we were back in Cedar Rapids! He was very knowledgeable and interested in my concerns. He was straightforward and to the point while also trying to get to know me. Front staff was also very friendly upon arrival and checking out.

I brought my daughter in for her annual appointment. From the front desk to the technician, to Dr. Locke, everyone was professional and courteous, and very helpful. We were given personal attention during our Exam, ordering contacts and billing in coordination with our insurance was without issue. Easily one of the best eye doctors we’ve ever been to.

The care and treatment Lumen extends to patients is exceptional. The individual attention is unusual these days and I would recommend them to people tired of feeling like a number.
