Dr. Michael Lock, O.D.

Dr. Michael Lock has over 22 years of experience in eye care. He grew up on a farm near Packwood, Iowa, attended Pekin High School, and went on to study at the University of Iowa before earning his Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry.

Specialties & Clinical Interests

Dr. Lock’s passion lies in providing comprehensive, full-scope eye care with a focus on long-term eye health. He has a special interest in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease, including innovative treatments for dry eye disease and ocular surface conditions.

Education & Experience

With more than two decades of experience, Dr. Lock has cared for patients across a wide range of vision and eye health needs. His background allows him to approach care with clinical expertise and a thoughtful perspective, helping patients feel confident in their diagnosis and treatment.

Community & Outreach

For the past 16 years, Dr. Lock has served as a pastor to a congregation of refugees from Burma (Myanmar). This long-standing commitment reflects his dedication to serving others, building relationships, and supporting his community both inside and outside the clinic.

Life Outside the Office

Dr. Lock and his wife, Dr. Jenessa Lock, have five sons and share a strong focus on family life. Outside of the office, he enjoys ministry work, spending time with his church, and staying active with his family.

You’ll often find him snowboarding, golfing, working out with his boys, coaching football, or enjoying sports together as a family.
